Who ate all the pies?

Football - Rangers v Celtic Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League

Liverpool face Blackburn tomorrow at Ewood Park and fans can look forward to a free pie after purchasing a pint between 1:30 and 2:30pm. I'm not sure whether this applies for every pint you buy but if it is the away fans are going to be very fat and very drunk by half past 2.

Liverpool are currently sitting 5th in the Premier League with Blackburn down at 13th. With Gerrard set to make his 500th appearance for the Red's and the likeliness that Torres will be available, this should prove a good fixture for the lads to begin a run of good form.

Liverpool could take 4th spot tomorrow but that would be relying on a Stoke win at the Emirates, however the chance to continue pushing closer and then eventually entering the top four is always a good incentive.

The only injury worries for Blackburn are Dunn and Andrews, both will be subject to a late fitness test and so may still feature. Liverpool are pretty much able to choose from the full selection of lads with only Kelly and Babel definitely out for this fixture. Torres as we already know will be subject to a late decision but the general consensus appears to be that he will feature at some point during the 90 minutes.

Stat Sandwich:
Rovers have scored just ten times in the last ten home games with Liverpool in the Premiership.
In the 15 Premier League meetings at Ewood Park Liverpool have won five, drawn five and lost five.
A win on Saturday will give Liverpool back-to-back league wins at Ewood Park for the first time in their history

After beating Everton last weekend and managing to keep a clean sheet the lads will be more than ready for an unsteady Blackburn. Again i feel we need a goal cushion to feel secure. After scoring just the one goal in many games so far this season it has been hard to feel confident in the side to push on and get the win. If we can get an early goal and then one in the second half that will do just fine.

Blackburn shouldn't be classed as an easy away game though, they'll be up for the challenge and i personally think they may get a goal. With this in mind and the hope that Torres will feature my prediction for this week is a 3-1 Liverpool win. I still don't feel confident in the defence at the moment and although i feel it is slowly improving, i just think Blackburn will manage to get one in. Despite this i feel the one thing we shouldn't have a problem with is goals.

Nevertheless three points here are highly attainable and so is a clean sheet. I do hope the lads prove me wrong and we go out there and make it a memorable game for Stevie's 500th appearance in the red of Liverpool. You can get 10/3 for Steven Gerrard to score & Liverpool to win with Blue Square for tomorrows game and who wouldn't take a punt at that actually happening? Although the skipper has been somewhat off form lately you can never dismiss the chance of a Gerrard screamer, especially in a game that will mean so much personally.
