Pre-Season And Transfers Update

So, as I'm sure you will have heard, Liverpool have missed out on the signing of Loic Remy after the Frenchman failed a medical in Boston with Reds staff. With speculation travelling around about the whole ordeal no matter how the final decision was made and who made it, Liverpool fans can't help but feel disheartened after missing out on the striker.

In other transfer news, Dejan Lovren has finally sealed his dream move to the Reds and seems very excited at the prospect of playing in front of an Anfield crowd. I like Lovren but as many will have seen from my Twitter updates, I just don't feel currently he's much better than the players we already have in our defence, however I do feel as though Brendan will be able to get the best out of him and Lovren is afterall only 25, his potential can flourish and I sincerely hope it does after paying £20 million for the privilege.

It's hard to feel massively excited with Liverpool's transfer dealings so far in this window however there is still time left and I get the feeling Brendan will want to make at least one key signing utilising that stash of Suarez cash. Currently we have definitely improved the squad but there are no real shining stars that have been purchased, some would argue we don't need one and perhaps we don't but it would be nice to see us grab a big name if possible though I can't see it happening.

In terms of the pre-season games Liverpool have been going pretty steady. I haven't had chance to catch the games live due to a multitude of reasons but I've been reading up and catching highlights. For anyone unable to watch also the Reds started their USA tour against the Italian side Roma.

Liverpool lost this game late on due to a Daniel Agger own goal and Totti featured for Roma at the grand old age of 37! Next up for the Reds was their tie against Olympiakos late last night, a very early goal from Raheem Sterling after a Daniel Sturridge deflection was the only goal of the game.

Next up for the Reds is Man City and then it's on to the Milan game to end the American tour.
