Reds Start Pre-Season At Brøndby

Blink and you'd of missed it. That's right, after all the madness of the World Cup, pre-season friendlies are here! Liverpool face their first opposition this evening in a match against Daniel Agger's old Brøndby side in Denmark.

Brøndby are a successful team in Denmark having won the title ten times, last season they finished fourth and they will surely be excited at the prospect of facing Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool outfit.

With new signing Lazar Markovic sealed yesterday. Rodger's has the Serbian as an option along with the other new boys - Lallana, Can and Lambert.

Liverpool's Pre-Season schedule can be seen below (info taken from www.liverpoolfc.com)

July

19 - Preston (A)
24 - Roma (H)
27 - Olympiakos (H)
30 - Man City (H)

August

2 - Milan (H)
10 - Dortmund (H)

The Roma game sees the start of the Reds' American tour with some cracking opposition I think you will agree! Afterwards the lads will return to face Dortmund at Anfield before the season begins on 17th August.

Friendlies never mean anything in my book and I'm never one of these people that looks at performances in the pre-season and then starts crying because I think that's how they are going to play in the first game. I enjoy watching them though where possible as it gives you a good chance to get a look at some of the new signings and also different systems and tactics that Brendan may be playing with.

The main positive of course is that pre-season means you're closer to the real season's start and that is always exciting!
