For those who don't know a lot about Brighton & Hove Albion, i will attempt to give you a bit of background information...
Brighton's perhaps most famous manager was the legendary Brian Clough, after only one season in charge however, he didn't see as much success down South as he did up North. Managerial wise it took until 2009 for Brighton to have a manager from outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Gus Poyet who hails from Uruguay is the current manager and most would agree he's doing a splendid job at the moment.
Brighton some people will also know had no home stadium for 12 years. Their home stadium up until 1997 was the Goldstone Ground but in the midst of some bad boardroom decisions the ground was sold and Brighton barely saw any of the profit.
Gillingham shared their home ground with Brighton for a couple of years before they moved to the Withdean Stadium, a place used mainly for athletics, so it wasn't the most ideal venue for the club and it's frustrated fans.
During the times without a stadium, debts mounted up, the board paid a large amount but nearly £3million had to be raised by the club themselves who made CD's and even Christmas cards with the players in the nude on.
Brighton are now finally in their new home stadium; Falmer Stadium. They moved in on May 31st and things are now finally looking up for a club which i must say has some very determined staff, players and fans.
A familiar name to some Craig Mackail-Smith has recently signed for Brighton and has already got some goals behind him but it's the 21 year old Ashley Barnes who is their most prolific scorer so far this season.
On Liverpool's side of the fence, we still have doubts hanging over Glen Johnson and there are plenty of opinions on Steven Gerrard's chances of playing. I personally think we'll see him on the bench so Dalglish can ease him in.
The last time Liverpool faced Brighton was in the FA Cup in 1991. An exciting affair for both sides after a replay was needed when both teams scored 2 in the first fixture. The Reds went on to win the second tie away from Anfield 3-2.
I think it's safe to say we have a game on our hands tomorrow, Brighton have already knocked out Sunderland (ok they aren't playing brilliantly at the moment, but neither were we on Sunday). I still think we have enough in the tank to get the desired result but I'm expecting goals from the home side.
