Manchester City V Liverpool [PREVIEW]

Liverpool make the short trip to Manchester on Saturday afternoon as they look to get the better of Pep Guardiola's side. The Reds picked up a massive victory over Arsenal prior to the international break but will the time away from the league affect progress?

The big news for Liverpool this weekend is of course the return of Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian has been back in training but earlier today (I completely missed this news as you'll see from Twitter haha) Klopp announced that Couts would not be in the team for tomorrow's clash.

It remains to be seen how the whole saga will pan out but to be honest I think it's in everyone's interest to just put it behind us. Coutinho's too good to leave to rot on the bench or in reserves and if he goes next year then so be it, let's squeeze some goals out of him first.

Other team news for the Reds means Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could get his first minutes clocked up in a Liverpool shirt on Saturday. Nathaniel Clyne re…

Six Nil, No Big Deal For Klopp

Image
Liverpool walked away from Villa Park on Sunday afternoon absolutely beaming after putting six past goalkeeper Bunn. The Reds converted with the help of six different goalscorers but it was the returning Daniel Sturridge who got off the mark first. Villa looked predictably deflated but what must be worrying for fans of the Midland side is that the players appeared to have given up. Obviously it's hard for any side to be on the end of a battering but for some of the Villa players there was just no fight in them at all.

"Interviewer: Have you ever won 6-0 away from home before? Jurgen Klopp: I think so... yeah... for sure. Sorry *laughs*"
The Magician feeds the forward There were several doubts hanging around about Daniel Sturridge before kick off but the majority of fans know better than to question the striker's ability. No matter how long he is out for or what the issue is, he always returns with a goal.
Even better for the Reds was the fact it was Philippe Coutinho w…

MATCH PREVIEW: Liverpool V Southampton

Image
It's Southampton at home for Jurgen Klopp's team on Sunday but will the boss be able to get the better of Ronald Koeman's side? The Reds still have injury worries to contend with and a lack of confidence in front of goal whilst Southampton can recall some top performances of late including a recent win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Injuries for Liverpool are still creating a bit of a problem as it looks as though Daniel Sturridge may be unavailable. The forward had to undergo another scan on his knee and it's not clear whether he will make the bench. Positively, Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino are back however Danny Ings and Jordan Henderson are both out long term.

For Southampton, they may have to assess the fitness of Jay Rodriguez late on after he suffered a knock. It looks as though Stekelenburg has recovered from a back problem though so Koeman will have his usual keeper in place.

Southampton at the time of writing (Saturday games not finished) find them…
