In Need Of A Win At Loftus Road

Liverpool are away at Loftus Road on Sunday as they look to put out a better performance than the one that unfolded at the Britannia on Boxing Day. So far it's not been a tremendous festive period for the Reds and many fans have lost their confidence in Brendan's boys at the moment.

Liverpool have no new real injury worries but Luis Suarez picked up a slight knock in the game against Stoke and has been nursing the problem this week, it is assumed he will still start on Sunday though. There's also a doubt hanging over Joe Allen who has had a problem with his pelvis.

For Queens Park Rangers they are without Onuhoa, Cesar and Park Ji-sung. There is also a doubt hanging over Ryan Nelsen who has picked up a virus this week.

Queens Park Rangers are currently dead last in the drop zone but after new manager Harry Redknapp turned up they've been given a new lease of life. Liverpool on the other hand had the chance to start knocking on the door of the top four if they'd of…

Youth Thrive In Goal Fest

Liverpool turned the tables on Young Boys on Thursday evening after their manager suggested it was the Reds that may find themselves embarrassed. Eventually though after the enthralling fixture ended in a 5-3 Liverpool win it was the home side left red faced.

Brendan left several Liverpool regulars at home and I must apologise for the match preview because I read that Raheem Sterling was also left at home when in fact he was on the bench. Pacheco started up front and the only real experience in the side was the likes of Jamie Carragher and Stewart Downing.

It didn't take long for the games first goal to appear which isn't surprising now knowing it ended with 8 goals. The home side actually gifted Liverpool a head start after a comedic mix up in their defence. A cross from Stewart Downing was relatively unchallenged by any Liverpool players but an attempted clearance ended up smacking defender  Ojala in the face and going into the back of the net. Hilarious.

What made me laugh…

Coates Stunner Not Enough For Liverpool

Liverpool fell to an embarrassing defeat on Wednesday evening at Loftus Road. Queens Park Rangers came from 2-0 down to beat Liverpool with three goals in less than 15 minutes. It was a shock to watch Liverpool crumble so quickly and easily after what started off as a good performance.

Dalglish decided it was time to reintroduce Charlie Adam to the starting XI for this one and he also dropped Carroll to the bench. Queens Park Rangers had a front line including ex Liverpool man Djibril Cisse.

The game got underway and was very much in Liverpool's favour. A first half consisting of mainly Liverpool possession left Queen Park Rangers struggling for ideas.

Chances from Kuyt, Suarez and Downing put the Reds just centimetres away from a first goal but as the chances kept coming it was clear it was going to be another one of those days. Liverpool just can't seem to finish and although sometimes it's down to a great save, most of the time it isn't and to be honest, there'…

Rangers Result & Deal With Nacional

McCulloch scores (Image source
The friendly with Rangers on Tuesday night ended in a 1-0 loss for Liverpool. Kenny Dalglish's side just couldn't find the back of the net in the match at Ibrox.

Liverpool didn't go easy on Rangers and players such as Charlie Adam, Andy Carroll and Glen Johnson were just some utilised by the manager.

Lee McCulloch scored for the home side in the first half which secured Rangers the win by 90 minutes. Doni who let the goal in was the only injured party for Liverpool after he suffered a dislocated finger, but the goalkeeper managed to get some good game time in and this will surely be valuable for a player who has to face facts that Reina will long be the first choice.

In other news, Liverpool are close to reaching a deal with Uruguayan club Nacional. The deal would mean Liverpool could have first pickings on the clubs young players that come up through the academy.

I personally think this is a fantastic move, we know Su…
