If you've escaped the news up to yet you've done pretty darn well but last night after tootling up to Manchester on my ones I ended up picking up the award for "Best Female Blog" as voted for by the fans at the Football Blogging Awards!

I was absolutely over the moon to receive the award and it was a pleasure to be presented it by the lovely Kate Riley from Sky Sports News.

Firstly I'd just like to say another massive thank you to each and every one of you that took the time to vote for me and The Liver Bird. Your support means the world! Secondly, congratulations to Laura from @YICETOR who picked up the award for "Best Female Blog" in the judges category, thoroughly deserved and her acceptance video was typically hilarious! Thirdly, a shout out to all the ladies in my category, please take the time to go and check out the wonderful work that they do!

As I mentioned I had to attend the awards on my own this year as my mates and fella were either workin…

Afternoon folks! I'm delighted to announce that I've been shortlisted for the Sportskeeda Blogger Awards! I must admit I've never come across the site before but was very happy to receive the email this morning and I've since had chance to look around, it's a very comprehensive sports website and it would be brilliant to receive an accolade from the folks over at Sportskeeda.

As you all know I was over the moon last July after winning best female blog at the football blogging awards and I'd really appreciate your help in my quest to try and gain the blog another gong.

I know my blog isn't the most technical, that's not what I'm here for and we all know that I'm no footballing genius but one thing I'm sure you will vouch for is my effort, since starting in September 2009 I have only missed one match preview and my blog has become a massive part of my life!

The Liver Bird is the only Liverpool FC blog in the category and we can't have som…

The Liver Bird Is 3!

Image
That's right folks, today marks the 3rd birthday of my little blog The Liver Bird. I'd usually make a special post to mark the day but as you all know at this moment in time there are much more important matters with the release of the Hillsborough Independent Panel Report yesterday so this will be a short post just to stamp a mark.

3 years in and I honestly don't feel any different from when I started it, I still thoroughly enjoy writing up my posts even though my imagination seems to have dipped recently haha! And I still love chatting with everyone via comments and on Twitter after and before games, it's part of my life now.

In July this year something amazing happened for the blog after my readers and Twitter followers voted for it in the Football Blogging Awards and it only went and soddin won best female football blog of 2012! I was so chuffed and still can't quite grasp that my blog is an award winner and it's all thanks to you readers! I'm very pro…

THE LIVER BIRD!

How utterly brilliant is that?! For those of you sitting there thinking, what the hell have you won? I find myself staring back at you asking where the hell have you been?

If you follow me on Twitter there is no way you will have escaped the knowledge that I was in a list of nominees for the best Female blog category in the Football Blogging Awards.

Being on the short list and never one to turn down an invite to a shindig I managed to circle up two guests (a farcical amount I know) and off we headed on Saturday afternoon to Manchester.

We'd booked two hotels both on the outskirts of the city, usually in these sort of posts I'd have a strategically placed jolly anecdote to do with our travels but nothing happened, not even traffic on the M6, mental.

My good mate Josh drove me and the fella there and back and it's a fair drive from Wolverhampton so cheers for that!

Anyway...

We eventually grabbed a taxi and headed out to Stockport for the event I have been ge…
