Season Ends For Reds At Villa

Bent will be looking to spoil the end of season party for Liverpool...
It's a trip to Birmingham for Liverpool tomorrow as they end their season with a match against Aston Villa. With the chance of 5th still slightly alive the Reds will be looking to end 2010/2011 on a high note. Dalglish has had a fantastic start to his tenure as Liverpool boss and a win over Villa would be the perfect jump start to what is set to be a very busy transfer window.

Aston Villa quite remarkably have no injuries what so ever for tomorrow. I think that's the first time ever after checking up before kick off that any team in a match preview has had no injuries, join me in my shock! For Liverpool however we still have Gerrard, Kelly and Agger out with long term injuries and it also looks as though Raul Meireles will be unavailable.

Last time out against Villa Roy Hodgson pulled off one of his better results in his short time as Liverpool manager  a 3-0 victory put Villa to shame at Anfield.

The pairin…

Bizarre Kuyt Goal Helps Liverpool Scrape Draw

Fans protest from the Sunderland game in March portrays a similar picture to yesterday's sit in protest at Anfield...
It was an eventful 90minutes to say the least yesterday for all those in a Red shirt and Sunderland were having their fair share of the action too. There was no beach ball this time but a refereeing mishap leading to a goal just as bizarre meant the game got off on a very strange foot.
Roy stood by his claims from a few days ago and completely changed the side that he started against Northampton. Reina was back in goal with the four in front of him including Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel and Konchesky. Midfield was made up of Cole, Kuyt, Gerrard, Meireles and Poulsen who was sitting in an even more defensive position than he has been placed in previous games. Torres lead the line.
It didn't take Liverpool long to get going after we saw a Torres goal ruled narrowly offside. It appeared we had started with the correct tempo.
Just before 5minutes Liverpool had themselves…

Bruce's Sunderland Travel To Anfield

Let's hope if they do score this time out it's an actual player on the scoresheet...
Liverpool open the doors for Sunderland tomorrow as Steve Bruce's side make the trip to the North West to face Roy Hodgson's deflated side. After being knocked out of the League Cup by Northampton it is not a great feel around Anfield at the moment but Hodgson has dropped clues in an interview that none of the XI who started on Thursday night will feature on the team sheet for tomorrow's game.
No Liverpool fan will forget a certain Sunderland game last season when a giant inflatable Liverpool beach ball helped along Darren Bent and completely fooled Reina to seal them a 1-0 win. Liverpool of course had the last laugh though in the follow up fixture when they beat Sunderland 3-0, the game included that superb goal from Fernando Torres from a tight angle near the far corner of the box.
It is believed there is a possibility that Dirk Kuyt may feature for the Reds tomorrow after apparentl…

The Beach Boy's Were In Town But Benitez's 11 Weren't Feeling Good Vibrations

Bad luck? Bad play? Just plain bad is all i can say. It appears that we have no excuses but to hold our hands up and admit that we were nowhere near up to scratch today. Benitez fielded let's say an interesting 11 after Gerrard and Torres were already ruled out the manager was also facing tiredness and fatigue from many players back from international duty. Benitez set out a 5-4-1 formation with three central defenders (Skrtel, Carragher,Agger) with Johnson & Aurelio positioned slightly further up the pitch. The midfield consisted of Spearing and Lucas in the heart of the line up with Benayoun and Babel on the wings and Kuyt the lone striker and of course Reina in goal.

Kick-Off and Liverpool are ready to try to turn around the smell of defeat with a victory at The Stadium Of Light. Sunderland get the game started and almost immediately the three central defenders are forced into action after a good move by Darren Bent. The striker at the moment is on fire and it simply wasn…

Liverpool V Sunderland Match Preview

A journey up to the North East for this weeks clash then at The Stadium Of Light. Sunderland are looking to capitalize on their emphatic efforts against Manchester United and put an end to successive losses against Liverpool.

Liverpool have won the last six meetings between the two clubs and have also managed to keep a clean sheet on all 6 occasions. Sunderland may not have the upper hand in terms of meetings but they come into this game on the back of a better run than Liverpool; Liverpool:WWWLL

Sunderland are also on the back of four wins at their home ground. And just to add to all these positives their current on form striker; Darren Bent has scored 5 goals in his last 4 games for the club. He will surely be looking to punish us on his home turf and further improve that record.
So where are the stats that back up our lads i hear you say? Well I'm afraid at this moment in time there isn't much, what i did dig up though is that Sunderland have scored a total of …
